Fry-IT boosts my Marathon fundraising total
Fry-IT makes very significant donation towards my charity fundraising target. I'm running London Marathon for Sense who helps deafblind people.
On Friday I've received a really nice cheque from Marcus, Fry-IT's "financial director" for £1000.
I've promised to raise £1400 to charity Sense. Now with only £235 left to raise my chances of success are pretty good. I can focus more on training.
I've received many ideas how to raise funds in my runner's pack when I've selected Sense to run for them. Also they are sending me a newsletter every fortnight with fundraising tips: organise dinner for friends or wine and cheese evening, bake some cakes or make lunch for people at work, pack bags in local supermarket ect. I'm not saying they are bad but they were not for me. It would be just to much work and poor results.
So I've coined my own tip: do whatever you are good at. And I did. I gave few advices about Plone to people who contacted me. And I got 3 donations of total £45. Nice, but not good enough. And one day, there came this opportunity at work. Client wanted something urgently but we had no resources. So I made a deal - I'll work during weekend and Fry-IT will help me with my fundraising target.
This is how you do it!
