I don't work for Fry-IT any more
31st of December 2008 will be my last official day at Fry-IT. But because I'm on holidays right now in reality I've already left.
Thanks to everyone in Fry-IT who worked with me for 2 years and 4 months. It was such an amazing experience. It is the best company I've worked for so far.
Thanks to Zahid, who taught me a lot about people, was always endlessly patient and saw only good in people.
Thanks to Marcus, who was keen listener when I've tried to explain Plone skinning and why it is so difficult and prepared nice financial reports.
Thanks to Keean, who always produced very good and complicated ideas.
Thanks to Peter, who tried to teach me how to become a better programmer, write clear and reusable code, unit tests, and to use PEP8 (coding conventions).
Thanks to Jan, who forced me to learn a bit of Linux and use apt-get by myself.
Thanks to Olda, who is a shining example of employee and whose only goal is to prove that you can die as a result of overwork.
Thanks to Darryl, for convincing me to learn how to compile Linux libraries on Windows.
Thanks to Pavel, who refuses to learn Python and stick to Ruby.
Thanks to Artur, who was a good and patient student politely confirming that my Plone code was really great and for ability to gossip in Polish.
Thanks to Seb who was a very good line manager, shame that only for such a short period of time.
I had a really great time at Fry-IT:
- went to 2 Plone Conferences: Naples and Washington DC
- visited few other cities: Shrivenham, Bristol, Dorchester, Leicester
- attended many meetings with customers
- attended talks and networking events
- organised World Plone Day in our offices
- participated in many very interesting projects
- released 3 projects to open source community
- did a bit of management and marketing
- improved wide range of soft skills: talking, listening, washing up ect
- learned a lot about Zope, Plone, Python, LaTeX, jQuery, PostgreSQL
- raised a lot of money for my marathon charity
Now I'm thinking what to do next. Looking for new opportunities...
